The C200 offers 1080p high-definition video with night vision, motion detection and two-way audio. It's also designed to work with other Tapo devices.
Features
The TP-Link Tapo Wi-Fi Smart Camera is the latest addition to the company's growing line of smart home devices. It offers pan/tilt support for a full 360-degree horizontal and 114-degree vertical field of view, 1080p high-resolution video with night vision, and two-way communication.
The camera also offers motion detection and a microSD card for local storage. Cloud storage is available via TP-Link's Tapo Care service, which starts at S$4.98 per month for a 30-day rolling plan.
Design
The Tapo C200 is a simple-looking Wi-Fi smart camera that's TP-Link's latest entry into the wire-free security market. It's well designed and easy to use, and offers plenty of features for the money.
The camera can be used alone or in conjunction with a TP-Link Tapo smart hub (which is also available separately). The hub adds extra features, such as AI-powered object recognition, as well as privacy and activity zones, and local storage to store video clips on microSD cards.
The Tapo app is easy to use and navigate, and the camera's status LED lights up a useful red and green when it's connected and working. There's a good range of preset zones and motion detection, and the app can notify you when an event occurs.
Motion Detection
If someone comes into your home, this camera detects it and alerts you with an instant notification. It also triggers light and sound effects that frighten away unwanted visitors so that you can sleep peacefully at night.
It's easy to setup - just plug in the C200 and pair it with your home Wi-Fi network through the Tapo app, available for iOS and Android devices. Once the camera has paired, it'll appear on the app's home screen alongside any other Tapo devices.
It comes with a microSD card that can store up to 128GB of recorded video, so you'll never have to worry about missing any important events. Its one-tap privacy mode lets you switch off video recording and streaming if you want to.
Night Vision
TP-Link's new Tapo Wi-Fi smart camera is designed to appeal to those looking for an affordable home security camera. It offers a range of features for just $75.
It can pan and tilt through a 360-degree horizontal and 114-degree vertical field of view. It also supports motion detection, two-way audio and night vision.
It records high-definition footage to a microSD card, which can be accessed via the Tapo app on your smartphone or tablet. You can use the app to set motion zones and snooze motion alerts for specific periods of time.
Audio
The TP-Link Tapo Wi-Fi Smart Camera is one of the best value home security cameras on the market. Its video quality is excellent, it has reliable motion detection and you can pan and tilt it to cover multiple areas of your home.
TP-Link’s Tapo app offers more features than its competitors, including AI-powered motion detection that differentiates between people, pets and cars. It also has a two-way audio feature, allowing you to talk through the camera.
It supports both Google Home and Amazon Alexa, so you can link the cameras to their respective assistants and stream the video feed to a smart display such as the Google Nest Hub or Echo Show. There’s a slight delay when streaming to a smart display over Wi-Fi, but overall this is a good choice for those looking to keep their home safe.
