It's a solid performer, but it has its issues. It doesn't quite match Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4 on image quality and performance but it does deliver a good day-to-day user experience, with a MediaTek flagship Dimensity 9000+ processor.
Display
Oppo's first folding smartphone is a good, well-rounded phone that offers a lot more than simply a fancy flip design. It's also a solid performer in its day-to-day tasks thanks to an impressively fast processor, excellent battery life and a decent camera.
One of the best things about the Find N2 Flip is its display. It's one of the largest in the foldable market with a 3.26-inch OLED panel that can be folded into a water drop shape, which OPPO claims will eliminate one of the most common problems with foldable displays: the crease in the middle.
Oppo has applied its ColorOS 13 skin to the Android OS on the Find N2 Flip, giving it a lot more polish and functionality than you'd get from a Razr or Z Flip 4. There are lots of helpful features, like a 'Shelf' that lets you access a variety of widgets without adding them to your home screen.
Camera
In good light, the primary camera on the Oppo Find N2 Flip is a very capable capturer. Its colors are pleasing, with accurate white balance and a good level of detail.
The camera also does well in bokeh mode, with nice results from the wide-angle lens. However, its zoom performance is rather poor compared to rivals in the Ultra-Premium category.
A key part of the phone's foldable design is the cover screen, which lets you snap selfies, portrait shots and even shoot video without having to open the device up. The Find N2 Flip can also preview what you're about to capture on the cover screen - a handy feature for selfies and group shots that might be captured from afar.
Battery
Battery is an important feature on any smartphone, and Oppo Find N2 Flip certainly excels here. It packs a massive 4300mAh that Oppo claims will last up to one hour more than other foldable phones and five hours longer than clamshell devices.
The phone's underlying MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ industry-leading chipset was specially optimized for battery optimization. With a whopping 44W SuperVOOC charging support, it takes just 23 minutes to charge up to 50% and reaches 100% in under an hour.
The battery life is very good for a folding device, and I was able to use it for an entire day with medium-to-heavy usage without any issues. However, I did get a bit of a dip in the middle of the day when using 5G, but that's hardly surprising with such a big battery.
Performance
Oppo has done a great job with the Find N2 Flip. It's a competitive alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The Find N2 Flip has an incredibly large outer cover display, making it easy to view notifications and other data without opening the phone up completely. It also lets you integrate various widgets into the phone's home screen, including a "Smart sidebar" that can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the display.
Powered by MediaTek's top-tier Dimensity 9000+ chip, the Find N2 Flip offers premium performance and plenty of power for all of the features it has to offer. Its camera is enhanced by the Marisilicon X NPU and the Hasselblad collaboration, so you'll be able to take some stunning photos.
Design
The foldable market is a hot one right now. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold and clamshell Z Flip series have taken the world by storm, offering the pocketable screen of a flexiphone and the portability of a traditional phone.
But there are some concerns about the design of these devices. First, we're still not sure how they'll be made durable over time.
Oppo's hinge mechanism on the Find N2 Flip is impressively smooth and solid, thanks to a new version of the company's 'Flexion Hinge'. It's capable of holding the screen open between 45 and 110 degrees without much resistance, and closes with a satisfying snap.
It's also built with multiple protections from dust and debris on the back of the hinge. Oppo claims the screen and hinge will last 400,000 folds, meaning more than 100 openings and closings every day for the life of the device.
