OnePlus has once again carved out a niche in the lower-end smartphone segment with the onplus nord ce3 lite. It was a major bestseller, if data shared by OnePlus is anything to go by, setting the stage for further expansion in this market.
Like its predecessor, the onplus nord ce3 lite packs an Octa-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery. But this time around, OnePlus has improved the fast charging speed, up to 67W from 33W on the previous model.
Design
The onplus nord ce3 lite isn't one of OnePlus's most eye-catching phones. It's a tall, bulky, and heavy smartphone, but it does have an energetic color theme that isn't always found on OnePlus devices.
On the other hand, it does have a big screen, loud stereo speakers, and fast charging support. It also offers an excellent camera that clicks some mean photos in low light.
It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as standard. It runs Android 13-based OxygenOS out of the box.
It's a good mid-range phone with a lot of promise, but it can't live up to the standards of its peers in the same price bracket. Its dated processor isn't the only issue here, as the lack of an AMOLED display and a mediocre camera are also a letdown.
Performance
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is one of the company's cheapest offerings to date and offers a lot for the price. But is it enough to make you choose it over its competitors in the Rs 20,000 range?
Despite relying on the old Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, it manages to deliver rock solid performance without lag. That's especially true for casual games like Genshin Impact, but you need to tweak the settings if you want to play high-end titles.
In addition to the SoC, the onplus nord ce3 lite also sports 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as standard. There's also a microSD card slot, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
The 6.7-inch LCD screen gets 680 nits of brightness and has a 120Hz refresh rate. Its 20:9 aspect ratio makes it a good choice for watching videos and shows, although it's not quite as sharp or vibrant as the AMOLED panels of its competitors.
Camera
OnePlus has upgraded the primary camera of its new onplus nord ce3 lite Review with a 108-megapixel sensor, a first for a OnePlus device. It also allows for up to 3x digital zoom without compromising on quality.
The pixel-rich sensor creates shallow depth-of-field for natural bokeh effect, and even has a good dynamic range. In daylight, it produces some very nice photos with realistic colors and a lot of detail.
It's best to use this sensor when the light is good, and a shutter speed of around 1/500s is recommended. Otherwise, the sensor does tend to oversharpen shots a little too much.
The 16-megapixel front camera is adequate for selfies, but tends to produce that telltale halo of fuzziness that accompanies most cheap phones. That being said, it does a decent job of creating skin tones and sharpness levels, though.
Battery Life
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is a very competent mid-ranger that's a great value for money. Its camera isn't quite as good as rivals but is still very solid, and the battery life is very impressive too.
The phone uses the same 2.2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC as last year's OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, although this time around you get 8GB of RAM instead of 6GB. There's also an upgraded 5000mAh battery that supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging.
It's a big step up from the 33W charging of the previous generation, which can juice a full tank in 30 minutes. Combined with the 6.72-inch display and 120Hz refresh rate, this means you should get excellent battery performance from the Nord CE 3 Lite.
The design is a huge improvement over the previous-generation OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, and you can choose from a number of colour options. We're particularly fond of the Pastel Lime variant, as it looks really pretty.
