The smartphone was announced on July 24, 2026, and released on July 31, 2026. It runs Android 16 and comes with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and support for 5G connectivity. Other highlights include a 6.75-inch 120Hz display, a Unisoc T8200 processor, a 13MP rear camera and a large 6000mAh battery.
Design and Build
The Lava Virat V1 measures 165.9 x 76.8 x 8.8mm and weighs 210 grams. It has a fairly large body designed around its 6.75-inch display. The smartphone supports a dual Nano-SIM configuration and also carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
The phone is available in Arya Blue and Sonar Gold colour options. Its design focuses on practicality, while the side-mounted fingerprint scanner provides a convenient biometric unlocking option.
Display
The smartphone features a 6.75-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate is useful for smoother scrolling, animations and compatible gaming. The display has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio, resulting in approximately 260 pixels per inch.
With around an 86.3% screen-to-body ratio, the large panel provides plenty of screen space for watching videos, browsing the web and using social media. However, the HD+ resolution is relatively modest compared with higher-resolution displays found on more expensive smartphones.
Performance and Software
The Lava Virat V1 is powered by the Unisoc T8200 chipset, which is manufactured using a 6nm process. The processor features an octa-core configuration consisting of two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2.1GHz. Graphics processing is handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A major advantage is its dedicated microSDXC card slot, which allows users to expand storage without sacrificing either SIM slot.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 16. This gives users access to the latest Android platform included with the device and its associated features.
Camera
The Lava Virat V1 features a single 13MP rear camera. The camera supports LED flash, HDR and panorama modes, while video recording is available at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has a 5MP front-facing camera. While the camera hardware is relatively simple, it is designed to handle basic photography, video calls and everyday social media use.
Battery and Charging
Battery life is one of the key highlights of the Lava Virat V1. The smartphone is equipped with a 6000mAh lithium-ion battery, giving it a large capacity for a device in this segment.
The phone supports 10W wired charging. Although the charging speed is relatively slow, the large battery capacity is aimed at providing longer usage between charging sessions.
Audio and Connectivity
The Lava Virat V1 includes a loudspeaker and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing users to connect traditional wired headphones without an adapter. It also supports FM radio, making it useful for users who prefer accessing radio broadcasts directly from their phone.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0. For navigation and positioning, the smartphone supports GPS and GLONASS. It also includes an infrared port for controlling compatible electronic appliances.
The phone uses a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support. However, NFC is not available on the device.
Pros and Cons
The Lava Virat V1 offers several practical features, including its large 6.75-inch 120Hz display, 6000mAh battery, dedicated microSD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack. Android 16, 5G connectivity, an infrared port and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner further add to its everyday functionality.
On the other hand, the phone has a relatively low 720p display resolution, only 4GB of RAM and a basic single 13MP rear camera. Its 10W charging speed is also modest for a smartphone with a 6000mAh battery, while NFC is not included.
Conclusion
The Lava Virat V1 5G is designed as a practical smartphone for users who prioritise essential features, a large screen and battery capacity. Its 6.75-inch 120Hz IPS LCD provides a smooth viewing experience, while the Unisoc T8200 chipset handles everyday tasks and 5G connectivity.
The 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera keep the photography setup simple, but they are suitable for basic photographs and video calls. The 6000mAh battery is one of the phone's strongest features, although its 10W charging means users will need more time to fully recharge it.
With Android 16, expandable storage, dual-SIM support, FM radio, an infrared port, a headphone jack and USB-C connectivity, the Lava Virat V1 focuses on practical features that can be useful in everyday use. Its combination of a 120Hz display and large battery makes it an entry-level 5G smartphone aimed at users looking for essential functionality without unnecessary complexity.
